student art

one of my art students is learning how to paint with acrylics. my boss's wife is into penguins and wants to buy it. it is not quite finished. there is some more shading to do and the yellow to add. she was looking at another picture which is a time honored way for artists to learn to paint and not considered cheating as long as you don't try to pass it off as being done by the origianl artist. quite different that the rest of the world.

nothing like learning by copying a master. we do it all the time in electrical engineering. I think theres about 10-15 real honest designs where I work. everyone pillages them and comes up with 'their' design that is in reality just a copy from someone else.

this is so common in fact, when you get a new part it comes with an example, or 'test' circuit, which is usually straight copied and sent to product. and they pay us for that!

i'm proud to say one of my recent designs was origional.
