the memorial service for my great aunt maurine was early sabbath morning...9:30. the graveyard was once attached to a luthern church, but because of some split in the church, the church moved and many of the original persons buried in this grave yard were moved to the new church. all that remains are a few graves scattered through the yard. the memorial service also included a service for maurine's sister in law. the land was originally donated by her sister in law's grandparents or great grandparents. the land is located just outside valley springs, south dakota. maurine and oscar once had a farm nearby and their sons, marsden and richard with his wife shirley are buried there also. maurine lived to 104.
it was a lovely setting even though a little chilly and misty.
