it seems like the holidays instead of being relaxing, turn into a frenzied rush to get everything done. i volunteered to help put up the xmas tree in the chapel. i hadn't done it before so was relying completely on ms. m since she has done it for ten years with another (former) teacher. we spent the first hour trying to stablize the tree in the stand. turned out we had the middle section on the bottom. went way faster when we put the bottom on the bottom and the middle in the middle. bummer.

its not even T-day yet. I love how christmas decorations are for sale in 'big box' stores before halloween has even taken place.
I think retailers are looking to build another high spending holiday, one where we all buy moving gadgets of reindeer waiving to some mythical bearded man. i'm sure they thought the 4'th of july was going to be as successful, but lets face it. you can only blow so many things up with firecrackers before you realize you really are burning your money.
don't those trees come with directions? little arrows with unreadablly small fonts that say 1-2-3 on them. you know, the kind that require someone of the pre-school age, on where the eyes haven't started to go (12 is to old). but allas, they neither posses the reading capability, or the physical agility and strength to assemble said monster.
its like those engineers just TRY to screw it up
happy holiday!
